    Who We Serve

    • According to the National Institute of Health, 1 in 5 Americans has some type of learning disability. Learning disabilities can affect an individual's ability to find success in academic performance and cause frustration in everyday life. From comprehensive evaluations to therapy, education and specialized turoring, ACCESS offers a menu of services that caters to diagnosing and helping with a variety of learning disabilities including but not limited to:

      • Dyslexia: a language-based disability in which a person has trouble understanding written words
      • Dyscalculia: a mathematical disability in which a person has a difficult time solving arithmetic problems and grasping math concepts
      • Dysgraphia: a writing disability in which a person finds it hard to form letters or write within a defined space
      • Nonverbal Learning Disabilities: a neurological disorder causing problems with visual-spatial intuitive, organizational, evaluative and holistic processing functions
      • Additional language, math, writing, and other learning disabilities

A learning disability cannot be cured or fixed. However, with the right support and intervention, children with learning disabilities can succeed in school and go on to have successful, often distinguished, careers later in life.

    • Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions due to an impairment in physical, learning, language, or behavior areas. These conditions begin during the developmental period, may impact day-to-day functioning, and usually last throughout a person's lifetime. ACCESS offers a variety of services to help address developmental disabilities for each individual's specific needs. Through evaluations, therapy, education, vocational training, community integration, and more, our team of experts can tailor a plan to help clients achieve their personal best at every age.

    • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and autism are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. Individuals with autism have, in varying degrees, difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication, and repetitive behaviors. There is no longer a diffrentiation between autism, Asperger's Disorder, and PDD-NOS.

ACCESS serves individuals of all ages on the autism spectrum through a variety of services depending on each individual's needs. From evaluations and therapy to education, vocational training and mental health services to communtiy integration, our experts can provide a variety of tools to help our clients build a brighter future.

    • Many times, children or adolescents struggle with mental health and behavioral issues for a variety of reasons, from coping with a disability, traumatizing events, school-related anxiety, and more. At ACCESS, we help children and adolescents, along with their family members, identify these mental and behavioral health issues and resolve them through appropriate methods of counseling.

With the addition of licensed mental health therapists through the ACCESS Evaluation and Resource Center, ACCESS is now able to provide a variety of evidence-based behavioral therapy models for children and adolescents. Learn more about our mental health program.

    • Attention-Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are among the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood. They are usually first diagnosed in childhood and often last into adulthood. Children with ADD or ADHD may have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors (may act without thinking about what the result will be), or be overly active. ACCESS serves individuals with ADD or ADHD from the evaluation process all the way through mental health therapy and treatment options, as well as education.

    • ACCESS's ability to tailor its services to best provide for each of our client's needs allows us the flexibility to serve individuals with a variety of diagnoses. Our comprehensive services can help clients of all ages based on their needs. Contact us to learn more about how our programs may help your family.
