Making the Transition from Secondary School: A New Chapter

Students with special needs have a variety of options when it comes to transitioning from secondary school. It’s an exciting new chapter but it can also fill students and their families with uncertainty. That’s why ACCESS has created a new series called “Transitions.” These informative meetings are designed to educate parents of high school students with developmental disabilities, 16 – 21 years of age, about post-secondary options and what to expect following graduation.

Open to all families in the Central Arkansas area, the first ” Transitions” night will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018, on the ACCESS Academy & Young Adult campus, located at 1500 N. Mississippi Street. University of Arkansas: Pulaski Technical College admissions staff, a disabilities counselor, and a member of their culinary arts program will discuss opportunities for prospective students.

Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to Programs Coordinator Laura Wyerick at: 501.217.8600 or
