Brittani Welch-Gunton, M.Ed., has been part of the ACCESS Academy team since 2023 and is currently a licensed Special Education Teacher for the Intermediate School. Brittani enjoys watching her students grow through hands-on learning and specialized intervention. She believes that every child has unique gifts and strengths, and with the right supports, they can thrive both academically and personally. Her personal goal for her students is to help them achieve the best possible future by fostering and promoting independence, academic skills, life skills, and social development.
Brittani has worked in the education field since 2012. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Studies and Early Intervention and a Master's of Education from California Baptist University, specializing in Special Education. Brittani is a licensed Special Education Teacher in both California (K-12) and Arkansas (Pre-K - 12). She taught for eight years in California in programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and holds specialized credentials in ASD and ESL. After moving to Arkansas in 2020, she taught for three years in Bryant in the LINKS behavioral program. Brittani is RISE certified in Arkansas for reading instruction and is formally trained in Wilson and Orton-Gillingham reading intervention programs. She is also trained in de-escalation programs such as CPI, Pro-Act, and MOAB, and has attended numerous trainings in the areas of communication, executive functioning, and behavior.
Brittani's favorite part of working at ACCESS is the whole-team approach, which ensures that each student's unique needs are met. Outside of her work at ACCESS, Brittani enjoys exploring the natural beauty of the state, hiking and camping with her family, reading a good book, and traveling to new places.
