Carly Hood, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Carly Hood, PT, DPT graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in August 2015 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and has worked in pediatric physical therapy since that time. She has been working at the ACCESS Stella Boyle Smith Early Childhood Campus since November 2016. Her favorite aspect about ACCESS is the importance placed on early intervention services coupled with providing a team-based approach to all children who require specific and individualized care to overcome their unique developmental challenges.

Carly has developed a unique perspective in regards to addressing children's physical therapy needs in order to meet gross motor milestones based on her involvement in additional pediatric elective courses as well as participating in several research projects in pediatrics while completing her DPT at UCA. Additionally, having three children of her own has given her a special skill set to more effectively treat children.

After working at ACCESS for several years and treating many children, Carly's favorite moments are witnessing children meet or exceed therapy goals. It is truly a joy to watch these children tackle and overcome their unique gross motor challenges. Carly will never grow tired of seeing children succeed!

When she's not treating her clients at ACCESS, Carly enjoys providing opportunities for her own children that enrich their lives. These activities include spending time outdoors, attending church functions, playing sports such as soccer and gymnastics, and spending time with extended family members. She also enjoys walking her dogs, reading, running, baking, and she is an avid coffee drinker - for both enjoyment and necessity.
