Lorie Baker, M.A., CCC/SLP has been a part of the ACCESS Early Childhood team since 2008. She now serves as Special Events and Program Manager, leading signature events like Fall Fest, the Circus, and Carrot Seed, while also supporting staff coverage and day-to-day classroom operations across the program.
Before moving into this role, Lorie spent many years as a Pre-K 4 teacher and Building C Team Leader, and she loved watching students grow across every area of development over the course of a school year. That same eye for growth and readiness now shapes how she plans events and supports classrooms, always with an eye toward what students and staff need to thrive.
In addition to being a certified teacher, Lorie is also a speech-language pathologist. Prior to joining ACCESS, she taught a language-impaired kindergarten class and worked in the public school system as an SLP. Lorie came to ACCESS after retiring from the Tri-District Early Childhood Program, and ACCESS's original, innovative curriculum reignited her love for being part of a classroom team.
Lorie's favorite part of working at ACCESS is being involved with students and families and making a difference in their lives. She has lived in Arkansas her entire adult life and is an avid Razorback fan. Lorie has two grown daughters and four grandchildren, two of whom graduated from the ACCESS Early Childhood program. She enjoys spending her free time playing with her grandchildren and traveling with her husband.
