Richard Cooper, M.S., OTR/L

Occupational Therapy Team Leader

Ricky Cooper, OTR/L has been an Occupational Therapist at ACCESS since 1998 and is currently working with the Lower 2 classroom at the ACCESS Academy and Young Adult campus. Throughout his time at ACCESS Ricky has worked with classrooms and clients ranging from infant to adult. Ricky is passionate about facilitating internal change by developing self-esteem and self-worth in each of his students through successful completion of tasks and an awareness of the world around them and their place in it. He uses his own life experiences with anxiety and OCD to better understand his students and develop strategies and treatment plans to serve them.

Prior to joining ACCESS, Ricky worked in home health, nursing homes, and public schools. This valuable work experience made it clear to him that his passion and his calling was to work with children. Ricky's favorite part about working at ACCESS is the endless opportunities to serve its students and families, to make positive change in their lives. When not working at ACCESS Ricky loves to spend time with his family.
